The Martian: Classroom Edition by Andy Weir
8th grade students will read the Classroom Edition of
The Martian by Andy Weir as the introduction and motivation for a collaborative English and Science experience when they return to school in August. Mrs. Uhr and Mrs. Parker gave all students entering 8th grade a copy of the book in May. In order to prepare for their first collaborative activity in 8th grade, students should: 1. Read the book. 2. Choose three out of the fifteen discussion questions at the end of the book to answer. 3. Create a model of something that would aid their survival on Mars. Students should bring their answers to the questions and their model on the first day of school. |
